Textile Work

Romi Sloboda was born in the United States and spent her childhood living in both the United States and her mother's native city, Seoul, Korea. She studied printmaking at the Santa Reparata Graphic Arts Centre in Florence, Italy, and received her BFA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the United States as well as included in the “Paper Road International Exhibition” in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the “International Print Triennial” in Cracow, Poland. In addition to grants from the Leeway Foundation, she was also awarded a residency fellowship from the Cité Internationale des Arts foundation in Paris, France, and a residency at CentralTrak, the University of Texas at Dallas.
