Red Press Studios

Red Press Studios began in 1994 in St. Louis, Missouri, when artists Romi Sloboda & Chip Dunahugh joined their resources and started Red Press for printing their own work. The foundation piece of Red Press Studios is a red press, a handbuilt etching press that measures 39" wide and 84" long. The press is an early Island Press, built by Washington University professors Peter Marcus & Kevin Garber.

Red Press Studios moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1997, accompanying Chip and Romi when they married and Chip began the MFA program at Tyler School of Art at Temple University. For eight years, Red Press was located in the Rivers Edge neighborhood in Old City Philadelphia.

In 2005, Red Press Studios relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is now located close to downtown Santa Fe in the historic Guadalupe-Railyard district. To find out more, please visit Red Press Studios
Romi Sloboda was born in the United States and spent her childhood living in both the United States and her mother's native city, Seoul, Korea. She studied printmaking at the Santa Reparata Graphic Arts Centre in Florence, and received her BFA from Washington University in St. Louis and her MFA from London Metropolitan University. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the United States as well as in Europe. She has been awarded residencies from the Cité Internationale des Arts Fondation in Paris, the University of Texas at Dallas, and the Herekeke Arts Center in New Mexico. Romi currently lives and works in London, United Kingdom.
